“God wants us to trust him even if it doesn’t make sense”
John 21:6
Now reading this story in this passage there’s so many things going on it is easy to almost miss a very impressive part of this story.
Have you ever had a situation in your life that you keep casting the net in a particular circumstance and you just keep drawing a blank and it just appears that nothing is changing?
Jesus was a part of that very similar situation.
I’ve heard teachings suggesting that the disciples were very weary of constantly trying to catch fish and finding the nets constantly empty.
They likely wondered:
“Is there a hole in the net?"
"What am I doing wrong?"
"Normally, this works!"
Just when they have lost all hope in believing that they would catch anything. Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith walks onto the scene.
He suggests the most profound and insane suggestion. Simply to just cast the net on the other side of the boat.
Perhaps maybe they did already and they were skeptical but I am sure they could have had the doubts flooding their mind but yet they knew that they didn’t have anything to lose either.
Then the impossible became possible, the net caught exactly 153 large fish!
Holy smokes!
That’s a very amazing miracle.
Later they discovered it was Jesus himself that suggested that.
What’s the point?
Casting the net is symbolism of good works and not growing weary in doing good works for the Lord. You see, Jesus when he does things in our life’s he’s going to offer a solution that doesn’t seem to make logical sense but he operates in a realm that’s beyond us.
We always have to remember that whatever we may be facing that we just have to remember to metaphorically cast the net on the other side of the boat and trust God with the results.
God bless and be highly favored.
