How to give up your own way
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
Matthew 16:24 NLT
The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord. If I truly believe that my steps are ordered by the Lord then the conditions of being ordered by the Lord is being a righteous person and righteousness is only found by God through Jesus.
When I perceive this passage explaining that we have to give up our own way it captivates me and invigorates me to sacrifice my perspective for a greater perspective that I may not have considered.
It’s not a limitation, it is an invitation of his greatness into our life’s
When we pray it is always a direct line to the throne of heaven by asking how can I give my way up in an area of my life that maybe I haven’t considered before and God will always come through and give you new profound insight.
When you follow your own insight it is always bound to leave you in a position of being in a place of serving yourself instead of serving your creator.
God's perspective may seem counterproductive but it will always be the better way in the long run
So lay your own way down and watch what God does with it.
