Judges 16:21-31
Biblical Number meaning
16 Agape Love
21 Distress
31 Offspring
Samson was the man after God's own heart that went down in history as one of the best judges in the book!
Samson in the hebrew means little son or sunchild
Makes you think of the son of God Jesus doesn't it?
Isn't that ironic?
Did you know that C.S Lewis says that every christian should become a little Christ?
Samson was not merely living out a nazarite vow but he was prophetically symbolizing what Christ was going to do for us when he pushed those pillars over.
He didn't just push down the pillars, he pushed a reformation and movement.
He didn't just push to please himself
He did not pray and walk away defeated
Samson
Prayed
Until
Something
Happened
Notice how Samson was not able to see because the enemy took his sight!
We need to learn to trust God even when we cannot see what God is doing
“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”
2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT
God expects us to die to our flesh in order to successfully serve him
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
Matthew 16:24 NLT
No matter how hopeless your situation may feel or seem and the enemy is celebrating a failure you may have had, Jesus will always have the final laugh for eternity!
Samson could have easily given up but he knew that the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob was more superior than the God of Dagon
God bless you and be blessed and highly favored!
