I was praying and seeking the Lord when I was reading Roman’s chapter 8 and there was a verse that caught my attention very quickly.
God's elect that was in verse 33 of the chapter.
Do we consider ourselves just friends of God or do we just happen to know who God is or are we his “elect”. When we know God as Lord and savior we know him as the one who elected us!
That literally means that God hand chose us and selected us personally. It’s very intimate and surreal that the creator of the universe PICKED us!
Not only that but it is God who justifies himself who he picks. He doesn’t need to clarify or to have a reason because that is the nature of who he is. He is a lover of our souls.
I could not have imagined in my wildest dreams that God would have decided in his perfection and his mercy to pick somebody like me intentionally the same way when you play a sport during recess and you always seemed to be the last picked to play a sport because maybe you were not as athletic or just not good at the sport. God picks you first. As that verse says the last shall be first and the first shall be last.
