Peace is often like a river.
A river flows to and from where it’s going. We often times need to have peace in every circumstance no matter what we face. You can sit still and appear to be at peace but you still feel anxiety trying to crush you. Oftentimes peace needs to be obtained from the Father just by simply spending time with him. The word says you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind stays on him. What a fantastic promise from God that is. I love how it says in that verse perfect peace. There is a difference between having peace and perfect peace. Perfect peace comes straight from God and regular peace comes from maybe a nice car ride or just having a calm countenance. I’m reminded of Jesus in a passage describing worshiping in spirit and truth to the woman at the well. I just wonder if that water that he was describing was not just an example of water that can quench our thirst for him but if that water also will help solidify and stabilize us in the perfect peace of Christ. I believe with all my heart it very well can. So always remember, be led by the peace of the Father.
